Dr Sinclair update:
There's a planned rising 9th grade night in February.
Hoping to add courses for the fall depending on the availability of more teachers.
There was a lot of positive teacher feedback from the gift cards.
Student Reps, Maria and Zura proposed a Valentine Dance
They verbalized that music diversity is lacking in the prom and would like to represent all students in a dance.
They would like to raise funds for the Dual Language Graduation.
They're proposing the date of February 21st, from 6 to 10 PM at the school gym.
Tickets will be affordably priced at $10/ticket.
They want to reach out to the Black and Asian groups to get their opinions.
They're asking for money for decorations and snacks. A member of their club has an uncle who owns a party rental company and they will inquire with him if he can help.
Thrift Store Update:
Hours are trending up.
There were 263 hours for December.
More openings for the spring are coming.
Claudia can be a supervisor and oversee groups now.
Financial update:
Raised $10,700 - fees
The gift cards cost $11,050
Raised $420 from dining for dollars at Mi Cancun and Zaxby's.
It's not known how much was made at the Carolina Brewery Night.
January requests:
David requested funds for an early graduation celebration, and it was agreed to give $200
Seaforth Performing Arts Foundation requested money to go to the Thespian Festival in Greenville. They have 24 students going for 2 days at a hotel cost of $250/student. Students are asked to contribute $125/ each toward this cost. It was discussed that this group could sign up for hours to work at the thrift store.
The Valentine Dance request. This group has $300 thrift store funds?
Website update:
Aileen has been working on organizing the old site and is about ready to launch the new website.
Claudia was able to get insights from Ms.Hoffman for a new website.
It was discussed the need to brand ourselves, which includes describing our mission and goals.And how we help support teachers and students.
Jason is going to ask about using his access to an I.T team to help with the "Redirect" issue when dealing with give backs.
